Quarry Hill becomes an Academy

13th August 2013

On July 1st, Quarry Hill Primary School converted to an academy status. This is the first step on their journey to improve provision and provide high quality education for their pupils.

Dilkes Academy, Thurrock’s only outstanding academy, will be sponsoring Quarry Hill through the Catalyst Academies Trust. This partnership will give pupils and staff at Quarry Hill the opportunity to collaborate on developments in teaching and learning, and to accelerate recommended changes so that the achievement and progress of pupils is raised and all receive high quality educational provision.

Maureen Wright, Headteacher at Dilkes and Executive Director of Catalyst Academies Trust commented, “We are looking forward to working with Quarry Hill in the new partnership, enabling us to develop outstanding educational provision for all pupils and staff at Quarry Hill.”

Martin Cowpland, Headteacher at Quarry Hill Academy said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to develop outstanding education for our pupils. We choose Catalyst Academies Trust to sponsor us, because of their outstanding reputation, and their research based expertise.”
