At Quarry Hill Academy we aim to provide the very best environment for all of our pupils to learn, to persevere and to succeed. Our school is based in a multi-cultural community, bringing a valuable mix of customs and cultures, which is essential to the development of our pupils. We value all of our pupils and ensure that we reflect their individuality, knowledge and skills. We want our children to be happy, confident and to share a passion for learning. We help them to achieve highly and make outstanding progress.
In July 2013 we became a part of Catalyst Academies Trust, a supportive Trust of five primary schools. At Quarry Hill we have classes from Pre-School and Nursery to Year 6, with over 500 pupils in total. We also have an SEMH base, our Personalised Learning Centre, offering a specialist provision for up to 10 pupils.
Attainment and progress for our pupils is in the top 2% nationally and number one in Essex and Thurrock. In July 2016, Ofsted inspected Quarry Hill Academy and we were awarded a judgement of Outstanding, making rapid progress from the previous finding of Requires Improvement.
Our bespoke curriculum is carefully planned to enable us to teach all the National Curriculum subjects in a creative and inspiring way. We engage children in a range of activities that enable them to develop their knowledge and skills, and equip them for life beyond school, accessing a wide, rich set of experiences beyond the formal curriculum to promote extensive personal development of all individuals.
We believe that every child is able to succeed. Refusing to accept underperformance, we believe that every child can make outstanding progress if nurtured and taught by outstanding practitioners. An ethos of high engagement and consistent high expectations is embedded across the school along with a desire to provide the very best education for all.
To all of us at Quarry Hill Academy, teaching is a chance to change a child's life; to ensure a life-long love of learning and aspiration for all to achieve.
