Somers Heath Primary School is a welcoming and inclusive school. We have high aspirations for the progress, attainment and behaviour of our children. Our aim is to provide an environment where children can flourish academically and socially so that they become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
The school is based in South Ockendon and was originally a single form entry school but, through an expansion into a disused building in 2016, we have grown into a two form entry school with over 400 children and a nursery. We benefit from having large classrooms, two halls, multiple playground areas and a large field. During 2021 the school underwent a major refurbishment project and now the entire building is modern and provides our children with the excellent facilities they require to learn.
In 2017 Somers Heath joined Catalyst Academies Trust, working closely with the partner schools to continue to adopt a curriculum that is challenging and creative. Ofsted rated the school as Good in December 2021, acknowledging the excellent behaviour of the children and partnership with The Trust as strengths of the school.
Everyone at Somers Heath Primary School is proud to strive for the best possible education so all children can reach their potential.
